Bears @ Packers betting preview: Will Green Bay bounce back?

Justin Fields.png

Austin Ekeler just needed a touchdown on Thursday Night Football for us to go a perfect 3-0, but we settled for a decent chunk of change after the under hit and he went over the number for receiving yards. Let’s ride this heater into Sunday night, a divisional matchup that should play closer than the books think. Let’s get into it, with the Chicago Bears a heavy ‘dog traveling to Green Bay to take on Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

The Bears pulled off the upset win in Week 1 against a tough San Francisco 49ers squad, while the Packers got absolutely obliterated by the Minnesota Vikings. Rodgers was not happy with his young receiving core, got sacked four times, and his offense was abysmal on third down - I’m not entirely sure it gets better against this Bears defense that everyone is seemingly overlooking. Rodgers was also just 2-of-5 with an interception on passes of at least 10 yards. It. is. Not. looking. Pretty. In. Green Bay.

Chicago will undoubtedly be looking to get to Rodgers all night behind a banged-up offensive line - which will be even worse if David Bakhtiari remains out. Robert Quinn, Al-Quadin Muhammad, Trevis Gipson, and Dominique Robinson will pressure him early and often; Green Bay will need to establish the run behind its two-headed monster of AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones as a result.

The Packers’ defense allowed 395 yards of total offense in Week 1, and over 100 total rushing yards to Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison. In order for Chicago to cover here, they have to get their running game going against this struggling unit and keep Rodgers off the field. Clock management is going to be absolutely vital here.

Look for Justin Fields to continue to establish himself both in the air and on the ground and keep it close. With both teams needing to rely on the running game, I think the under hits in the process.

Bets:

  • Chicago Bears +10 (+100 at Coolbet)
  • Under 41.5 (-103 at Coolbet)
