Steelers @ Browns betting preview: Chubb to propel Cleveland past Pittsburgh?

Nick Chubb.png

The Buffalo Bills dismantled the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football to kick off a solid start to our doubleheader. Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs couldn’t be stopped and were pulled in the fourth quarter, running away with a 41-7 victory. Derrick Henry and the offense could not do anything against the Bills’ defense, and Ryan Tannehill ultimately took a seat. Easiest win of the season for us. As for Minnesota? Well, let’s burn the tape on that.

Steelers @ Browns

Week 3 of the season kicks off when the Pittsburgh Steelers visit Jacoby Brissett and the Cleveland Browns, who are coming off an embarrassing comeback loss to the New York Jets. The public money is all over the Steelers, who are without TJ Watt, and that is typically a good sign to fade 'em. Sharps are giving Cleveland the benefit of the doubt after the disaster on Sunday. Expect the Browns to use their stable of running backs to find the end zone against this Steelers defense, who allowed Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson to combine for 118 yards a week ago. Cleveland is receiving better than expected play from Brissett; he went 22-of-27 passing for 229 yards (average of 8.5 yards per pass) against the Jets and has a full complement of receivers at his disposal. Mitch Trubisky, on the other hand, is averaging just five yards per play and is going against a fully healthy defense now that Myles Garrett is back in the fold.

Nick Chubb is another player to key in on. I’m loving his rushing/receiving combo at 94.5 yards. Expect the Browns to lean on him heavily. He’s gone over that total in both games this year, and the Steelers are especially susceptible to the run - they’ve allowed 128.5 rushing yards per game. Let’s cash on both tonight.

Bet:

  • Browns -4 (-107 at Pointsbet)
  • Chubb over 89.5 yards rushing/receiving combo (-114 at BetRivers)
