Former Longhorn to run wild

Sam Ehlinger.png

No one knows the first time the phrase was uttered, all we do know is that it is a question that has been passed from generation to generation, empire to empire, continent to continent, with no one being able to truly provide a definitive answer.

“Is Texas back?”

Currently, they aren’t, but the previous face of the Longhorns, Sam Ehlinger, certainly is as he gets his first NFL start this Sunday for the Colts at home against the Commanders.

Russell Wilson might be crazy, but Cam Stewart is crazier. Drive to Survive-r returns and might be the most profitable sports betting show in the whole world.

Unfortunately for Ehlinger, that start will come behind one of the worst offensive lines in football. Before being benched, Matt Ryan had been sacked 24 times, which was the second highest total in the league. While it is true that Ryan has been under pressure from the second the ball is snapped, it doesn’t help that there are stone gargoyles perched atop the Notre Dame Cathedral that are more mobile than he is currently. Sam changes that immediately.

Is Ehlinger going to be running for his life just like Ryan was? Yes, him starting won’t suddenly improve the performance of the Colt’s front five. But at least now once defenders get through there is a chance that Ehlinger will be able to create some positive yardage with his legs.

It is that ability to create that leads me to my favorite prop of the weekend.

Sam Ehlinger OVER 25.5 yards rushing (-115 BetMGM).

To be honest, this number could be 30 and I still would take it. Frank Reich has already indicated that he expects Sam to make a play or two with his legs on any 3rd-and-long the Colts face and I believe you will also see numerous designed runs to get him out of the pocket. 26+ yards on the ground will be a cakewalk for the former Longhorn.

Good luck on all of your bets and Hook Em!

TLDR: Ehlinger OVER 25.5 yards rushing (-115 BetMGM)
