NFL weather report - Week 12

nfl rain.png

This new feature is designed to help give bettors another edge when it comes to props, game spreads, and eventual trends. Knowing how much wind, precipitation, and temperature will affect the games can save gamblers grief and be very profitable. I will profile every week for the NFL games on Sunday. The MinnixMeter measures the effect of weather on a game from 1 to 5. The greater the number, the higher the effect on the game.

Synopsis

A strong weather maker will be near the East Coast for Sunday, as well as in the Pacific Northwest. Watch out for windy conditions and rain in these areas.

 Denver Broncos (3-7) @ Carolina Panthers (3-8)

Bank of America Stadium

Time: 1:00 ET

Temperature at gametime: Low to Mid 60’s

Sky: Mostly Sunny, Slight Chance of a Shower (20%)

Wind: Southwest 10-15, gusts to 25 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 2.0 The wind could play a factor here, as could a slight chance of rain. As it looks now, the precipitation should be over by Sunday afternoon, but the moderately gusting wind could be a problem.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-5) @ Cleveland Browns (3-7)

FirstEnergy Stadium

Time: 1:00 ET

Temperature at gametime: Upper 40’s to 50 degrees

Sky: Overcast, Showers Likely (70%)

Wind: Southwest 15-20, gusting to 30 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 4.0 This could be a really soggy and nasty game with the conditions. All aspects could be affected and field position may be at a premium. This has the potential to be an ugly game.

Baltimore Ravens (7-3) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (3-7)

TIAA Bank Field

Time: 1:00 ET

Temperature at gametime: Mid 70’s

Sky: Partly Sunny, Risk of a T-Storm (30%)

Wind: Southwest 10-15 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 2.0 The wind will not be as much of a factor is in Cleveland, but the risk of a thunderstorm is there, and possible weather delays. Other than that, it will be just fine in Jacksonville.

Houston Texans (1-8-1) @ Miami Dolphins (7-3)

Hard Rock Stadium

Time: 1:00 ET

Temperature at gametime: Low 80’s

Sky: Mostly Sunny

Wind: Southwest, 5-10 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 1.5 The wind and the sky won’t be any factor, but the temperature and the heat index being near 90 degrees might. Both teams are used to this, and overall it will be a nice day in south Florida!

Chicago Bears (3-8) @ New York Jets (6-4)

MetLife Stadium

Time: 1:00 ET

Temperature at gametime: Low to Mid 50’s

Sky: Overcast, Showers Likely (70%)

Wind: East Northeast 10-15 MPH, gusting to 25 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 4.0 Just like in Cleveland, rain is expected during the afternoon along with some gusty winds. The field should be soggy and it may affect all aspects of the game, including passing and kicking.

Cincinnati Bengals (6-4) @ Tennessee Titans (7-3)

Nissan Stadium

Time: 1:00 ET

Temperature at gametime: Mid 50’s

Sky: Mostly Sunny

Wind: West Southwest, 5-10 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 1.0 The rain should have moved out of the Nashville area during the early morning hours, making beautiful conditions for this AFC showdown.

Atlanta Falcons (5-6) @ Washington Commanders (6-5)

FedEx Field

Time: 1:00 ET

Temperature at gametime: Mid to Upper 50’s

Sky: Cloudy, Showers Early (40%)

Wind: West Southwest 10-15 MPH, gusting to 25 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 3.0 It should not be as soggy in Washington, and the rain is supposed to be coming to an end as the game goes on. The winds could be a factor as well, but I don’t believe it to be as bad as conditions in Cleveland and East Rutherford.

Los Angeles Chargers (5-5) @ Arizona Cardinals (4-7)

State Farm Stadium

Time: 4:05 ET

***this game is indoors, no weather related problems***

Las Vegas Raiders (3-7) @ Seattle Seahawks (6-4)

Lumen Field

Time: 4:05 ET

Temperature at gametime: Low to Mid 40’s

Sky: Overcast, Rain Likely (80%)

Wind: Southwest 5-10 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 3.0 While it doesn’t look like a complete slog in Seattle, it might rain all afternoon lightly which could affect grip on the ball and footing. Thankfully, the wind won’t be too strong, but it will still be somewhat raw.

Los Angeles Rams (3-7) @ Kansas City Chiefs (8-2)

GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium

Time: 4:25 ET

Temperature at gametime: Mid to Upper 40’s

Sky: Mostly Sunny

Wind: West Northwest, 5-10 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 1.0 No problems at all in Kansas City, and it will be a beautiful day for football!

New Orleans Saints (4-7) @ San Francisco 49ers (6-4)

Levi’s Stadium

Time: 4:25 ET

Temperature at gametime: Low to Mid 60’s

Sky: Mostly Sunny

Wind: Northwest, 5-10 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 1.0 No weather problems at all in the Bay area, should be a gorgeous day for football.

Green Bay Packers (4-7) @ Philadelphia Eagles (9-1)

Lincoln Financial Field

Time: 8:20 ET (Sunday Night)

Temperature at gametime: Low 50’s

Sky: Mostly Cloudy, Slight Chance of Showers (20%)

Wind: Southwest becoming West, 5-10 gusting to 20 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 2.0 The field should still be damp from rain coming in on Sunday afternoon, but it should be on its way out by gametime.

Pittsburgh Steelers (3-7) @ Indianapolis Colts (4-6-1)

Lucas Oil Stadium

***this game is indoors, no weather related problems***
