NFL weather report - Week 8

nfl weather.png

This new feature is designed to help give bettors another edge when it comes to props, game spreads, and eventual trends. Knowing how much wind, precipitation, and temperature will affect the games can save gamblers grief and be very profitable. I will profile every week for the NFL games on Sunday. The MinnixMeter measures the effect of weather on a game from 1 to 5. The greater the number, the higher the effect on the game.

Denver @ Jacksonville (Wembley Stadium, London, England)

Time: 9:30 AM ET

Temperature at gametime: Around 60 degrees

Sky: Mostly Cloudy

Wind: 10-15 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 1.5 Some light rain in the morning could affect the game and make the field a bit more damp. I don’t think the wind will be a huge impediment either.

Injury news has ravaged the NFL this week which could make for some incredibly interesting angles as it comes to the player prop markets around the league.

Carolina @ Atlanta (Mercedes-Benz Stadium)

Time: 1:00 PM ET

**This game is indoors, no weather related problems**

Chicago @ Dallas (AT&T Stadium)

Time: 1:00 PM ET

Temperature at gametime: Upper 60’s to near 70

Sky: Mostly Sunny

Wind: Northwest 5-10 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 1.0 It will be beautiful weather in the Metroplex for a football game!

Miami @ Detroit (Ford Field)

Time: 1:00 PM ET

**This game is indoors, no weather related problems**

Arizona @ Minnesota (U.S Bank Stadium)

Time: 1:00 PM ET

**This game is indoors, no weather related problems**

Las Vegas @ New Orleans (Caesars Superdome)

Time: 1:00 PM ET

**This game is indoors, no weather related problems**

New England @ New York Jets (MetLife Stadium)

Time: 1:00 PM ET

Temperature at gametime: Around 60 degrees

Sky: Mostly Sunny

Wind: Light and Variable

MinnixMeter Rating: 1.0 A picture-perfect day for football!

Pittsburgh @ Philadelphia (Lincoln Financial Field)

Time: 1:00 PM ET

Temperature at gametime: Low 60’s

Sky: Mostly Sunny

Wind: ENE 5-10 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 1.0 Just like on the rest of the East Coast games on Sunday afternoon, this game should have no problems whatsoever.

Tennessee @ Houston (NRG Stadium)

Time: 4:05 PM ET

Temperature at gametime: Low 70’s

Sky: Mostly Sunny

Wind: Northwest, 5-10 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 1.0 No problems in Houston for this game between two AFC rivals!

Washington @ Indianapolis (Lucas Oil Stadium)

Time: 4:25 PM ET

**This game is indoors, no weather related problems**

San Francisco @ Los Angeles Rams (SoFi Field)

Time: 4:25 PM ET

**This game is indoors, no weather related problems**

New York Giants @ Seattle (Lumen Field)

Time: 4:25 PM ET

Temperature at gametime: Low 50’s

Sky: Rain (90% chance)

Wind: Southwest, 10-20 MPH, gusting to 25 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 3.0 The field will be soaked for this game, as the Seattle area is expecting about 1-2 inches of rain on Sunday. I expect running backs will play a bigger role here, or the short passing game. There could be plenty of turnovers due to a wet ball and tons of precipitation. Don’t be afraid to bet the under here, as the long passing and kicking games may be affected.

Green Bay @ Buffalo (Highmark Stadium)

Time: 8:20 PM ET

Temperature at gametime: Low to mid 50’s

Sky: Mostly Cloudy, 30% Chance of Showers

Wind: South, 5-10 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 2.0 Not nearly as bad as the Seattle game. As the game goes on however, the chances of rain will increase. The big difference is the rain will just be starting in Buffalo, whereas in Seattle, the field will be soggy from hours of rainfall. Stay tuned to the latest on this game.

Cincinnati @ Cleveland (FirstEnergy Stadium)

Time: 8:15 PM ET (Monday Night)

Temperature at gametime: Mid to Upper 50’s

Sky: Mostly Cloudy, showers ending (20%)

Wind: Southwest, 5-10 MPH

MinnixMeter Rating: 1.5 The field should be a bit soaked, but should be starting to dry out as the teams take the field for the game. As the game goes on, it should provide less and less impact for the players and spectators.

Final Synopsis

It will be a beautiful day for football for most of the country with the biggest exception being the Pacific Northwest with the new storm system coming in on Sunday. Make sure to stay tuned right here as the weather gets colder and nastier, and make this your last read before you finalize those bets for Sunday!

For The Hammer, this is Shawn Minnix signing off.
